Nutrition Response Testing®, NRT

What is Nutrition Response Testing®?

Nutrition Response Testing® is a non-invasive system of analyzing the body in order to determine the underlying causes of ill health.

The analysis is done through testing the body’s autonomic nervous system. Nutrition Response Testing analyzes different areas on the surface of the body that relate to the state of health and to the flow of energy in each and every organ and function of the body. This information is derived from the part of the nervous system whose job it is to regulate the functions of each and every organ.

In Nutrition Response Testing we use designed clinical nutrition to correct the cause of the problem, so that the body can regain the ability to correct itself.

Through an analysis of your body’s organs/areas, we help you to determine the exact nutrients you need to supplement your diet, in order to bring about balance and better health. Depending on your individual situation, we might also require that you make some specific changes in your diet and eating habits, and in your routines, in order to bring about the best possible results.

Each patient gets a completely individualized program.

Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology is a muscle testing technique utilized by Naturopaths, Chiropractors as well as other practitioners across the world.  It is based on specific muscle testing and the Chinese medicine meridians.   It is taught that each organ has a related muscle in the body which can help give insight into someone’s health beyond what can be found on a basic physical exam.  Based on the triad of health which includes the physical, biochemical, and emotional aspects of one’s health, Applied Kinesiology uses muscle testing to address each factor in order to achieve overall wellness.  Without addressing all three aspects of the triad and ensuring that all three are functioning, it can be difficult for patient’s to reach their optimal health.

Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic Physicians are trained as primary care physicians.  With an emphasis on treating the whole person and getting to the root of the cause, Naturopaths are not only taught diagnostics, but also how to determine the cause of each individual’s diagnosis.  This allows us to treat each patient as an individual, rather than a diagnosis.  A large emphasis on treating each person as an individual allows us to create a treatment plan that is right for each patient’s individual case–just because two people have the same diagnosis does not mean that the same treatment plan will work for them both.  Because of this, we are trained in multiple treatment modalities including but not limited to nutrition, exercise and lifestyle counseling, as well as physical medicine, herbal medicine, homeopathy and pharmaceuticals.

Naturopathic medicine places a large emphasis on prevention.  We believe that people should seek medical care long before they are sick in an effort to prevent illness, rather than treat it after it happens.  Through lifestyle and health modifications, many of the common diseases in the United States could be lessened if not completely prevented.

Other principles of naturopathic medicine include supporting the healing power of nature, doctor as teacher and first do no harm.

All of these principles are at the heart of naturopathic medicine and drive its practitioners.
